Z3 is a generic counting/measuring application built on Zoopomatic2. Whereas Zoopomatic2 was intended for Zooplankton counting only, Z3 enables users to count and measure using a database schema of their own design.
Z3 allows users to specify:
- What is being measured (e.g. Species)
- How to group data (e.g. Samples & Subsamples)
- How to label counts/measurements (e.g. Length, Egg Count)
The enhancements of Z3 compare to Zoopomatic2 are:
- User-defined schema meaning Z3 can be used in a variety of applications.
- Overlay Mode allows users to take measurements with cameras that don't support live video feeds except via their own driver or application window.
- Customizable export formats allow users to define how they want their data exported.
